March 30, Wednesday, 4 p.m. — Laura Tyson, a UC Berkeley professor and an economic adviser in the Obama and Clinton administrations, will speak on “Two-Track Recovery of the Global Economy" in the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. Tyson is the second speaker in this year’s Chancellor's Colloquium series. Her talk will be followed by a panel discussion with Brad Barber, the Maurice J. and Marcia G. Gallagher Professor in Finance and director of the Center for Investor Welfare and Corporate Responsibility at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management; Steve Currall, dean of the Graduate School of Management; and Robert Feenstra, professor in the UC Davis Department of Economics. The colloquium will be followed by a reception. The event is free and open to the public.

Tyson is a member of President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. During the Clinton administration, she served as the president's national economic adviser and as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers. She was dean of the Haas School of Business from 1998 to 2001 and dean of the London Business School from 2002 to 2006.
