Wednesday, Oct. 31 -- Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, the Phillips Professor of Early American History at Harvard and winner of the 1991 Pulitzer Prize for History, will deliver a lecture titled "Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History" from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Ballroom B of the Activities and Recreation Center at UC Davis. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Ulrich won the Pulitzer for her book, "A Midwife's Tale: The Life of Martha Ballard Based on Her Diary, 1785-1812." Ulrich also assisted in the production of a PBS documentary based on "A Midwife's Tale."
The lecture is part of the UC Davis "Pulitzer Prize Winners in History Series" co-sponsored by the Institute of Governmental Affairs, the Center for History, Society and Culture, and the Department of History.
