UPDATE: Fire Investigation Continues

Updated May 12:

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire in a Solano Park apartment that broke out on Saturday night (May 8). UC Davis will share the results once the investigation has been completed.

The UC Davis Fire Department responded to the campus’s Solano Park Apartment at about 11:30 that night.

Since then, the building’s systems and structure have been evaluated for safety, and gas and electrical power have been restored.

Residents of the 12-apartment block are temporarily being housed elsewhere on campus, and have been provided with complimentary access to dining commons.

Student Housing is working with the residents to coordinate moving back into their apartments, pending tests by UC Davis Environmental Health and Safety and a final inspection by the UC Davis fire marshal.

Students who would like counseling services should contact Student Health and Counseling Services.

UC Davis will provide updates as soon more information is made available.
