The University of California, Davis, School of Law has a variety of expert sources who can assist reporters with stories about pending cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Each professor source is listed with a link to a title, biography, photo and contact information. Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization

Issue: Does Mississippi’s law banning most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy violate the constitutional right to abortion? And, are all pre-viability bans on abortions unconstitutional?


Gun control

New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen

Issue: Whether the state of New York’s denial of petitioners’ applications for concealed-carry licenses for self-defense violated the Second Amendment.


Religious liberty

Carson v. Makin

Issue: Whether Maine’s law forbidding the use of public taxpayer dollars to religious private schools violates the religion clauses or equal protection clause of the United States Constitution.


Kennedy v. Bremerton School District

Issue: Whether a school district can ban a high school football coach from praying on the sidelines.



Biden v. Texas

Issue: Whether the Department of Homeland Security can continue the “remain in Mexico” policy for certain noncitizens arriving at the southwest border.



West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency

Issue: Whether the Environmental Protection Agency has the authority to regulate greenhouse gases.
