Mary Croughan, provost and executive vice chancellor, and Ahmet Palazoglu, chair, Davis Division of the Academic Senate, sent the following letter to students this afternoon (Nov. 29):

Dear Students,

The Academic Senate leadership and the Provost’s Office are working together on instructional and operational challenges related to the continuing UAW strike, and how we can best support your academic success.

The UC Davis Academic Senate approved the following policy adjustments for this quarter (fall 2022):

Instructions on P/NP and S/U can be found on the Registrar’s website. Additional guidance on P/NP and S/U grading flexibilities is available from the Academic Senate.

We remain hopeful that negotiations between the University of California and the UAW will find resolution very soon. Thank you for your continuing commitment to your studies and we wish you a successful quarter.

All the best,

Mary Croughan
Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor

Ahmet Palazoglu
Chair, Davis Division of the Academic Senate
Distinguished professor, Department of Chemical Engineering
