UC Davis Statement Related to Student Death at Miller Hall

It is with utter sadness that we report that a student died this morning (Jan. 24) at his Miller Hall residence on campus. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and others who knew and loved him. We are grateful for the first responders who were on-scene who did all they could for the student.

As part of our postvention practice, UC Davis counselors visited the residence hall to talk to the student’s roommates, and others have contacted the family. We ask that the family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.

We know that many of you are grieving, and we share in that loss. We encourage the campus community to draw on our support and other resources. Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) offers confidential services for students, and consultation and crisis response for employees, students and parents (530-752-0871).

The Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) offers confidential services to all UC Davis and UC Davis Health faculty, staff and families (530-752-2727).
