Feb. 27, Tuesday -- Victoria Bradshaw, secretary of the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency, will talk about the labor market and challenges and opportunities facing the state. Bradshaw is a UC Davis graduate and the governor's lead administrator on labor issues, including the partnership to improve the economy and labor market of the San Joaquin Valley. She was previously vice president of human resources at the BATUS Retail Group and the first woman California state labor commissioner. The campus talk is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the UC Davis Institute of Governmental Affairs and the UC Miguel Contreras Labor Studies Development Fund, Bradshaw's speech will take place noon-1 p.m. in 360 Shields Library on the UC Davis campus.
