Politics of Mass Surveillance and Profiling

April 22, Tuesday -- Siva Vaidhyanathan, author of "The Anarchist in the Library," will talk about privacy in the information age from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Wilkins Moot Courtroom in King Hall at UC Davis. Vaidhyanathan's talk is titled "What We Talk About When We Talk About Privacy: The Politics of Mass Surveillance and Profiling." He is a fellow at the New York Institute for the Humanities and the Institute for the Future of the Book, and an associate professor of media studies and the law at the University of Virginia. He has appeared on "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" and written for MSNBC.com. The lecture is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the UC Davis School of Law, the Center for History Society and Culture, and the Institute of Governmental Affairs.
