A leaked draft suggests that the Supreme Court could overturn long-standing protections of abortion rights. What’s the reasoning behind such a decision, and what do legal scholars make of it? How did we get to this point, and what are the implications for other Supreme Court decisions? Joining us on Thursday, May 12 at 12 p.m. PDT to discuss these and other questions are two experts from the UC Davis School of Law:
- Lisa Ikemoto is a Martin Luther King Jr Professor of law at UC Davis. She teaches bioethics, health care law, public health law, reproductive rights, law & policy, and marital property. Her research areas include reproductive rights and justice, especially the ways that that race, gender, disability, and wealth mediate access to and impacts of biomedical technology use and health care.
- Courtney Joslin is also a Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of law at UC Davis. She teaches in the areas of Constitutional Law, Employment Discrimination, Family Law, and Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and the Law. Joslin is a leading expert in the areas of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and unmarried couples.
