Peregrine Falcon ‘Nox’ Passes

Equinox, or Nox began his life atop UC Berkeley's Campanile and passed away Oct. 23, 2024.

UC Davis wildlife specialists are deeply saddened to share that Equinox (Nox), a peregrine falcon whose life was streamed on a popular UC Berkeley web cam feed, passed away last night (Oct. 23). A post-mortem exam is being conducted to determine the cause of death. Further information will be shared on the UC Davis California Raptor Center’s Facebook page

Nox was released to the wild on Oct. 18 following a broken wing injury suffered on July 3. He was re-rescued in the East Bay Area on Oct. 21, presenting with acute emaciation and treated at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.
