Oct. 25, Tuesday -- UC Davis environmental historian Ari Kelman will speak on "Built in Harm's Way: New Orleans' History of Disaster and Renewal" as part of a special seminar series on natural disasters and their consequences at UC Davis. He is author of "A River and Its City: The Nature of Landscape in New Orleans." Kelman arrived at UC Davis this fall from the University of Denver. His lecture, part of the Policy Watch Seminar Series sponsored by the Institute of Governmental Affairs, will begin at 12:10 p.m. in the IGA Reading Room on the third floor of the Shields Library.
