May 10, Monday -- The design of support systems for K-12 mathematics teachers and school administrators will be the topic of a UC Davis lecture by Philip Uri Treisman of the University of Texas at Austin. The mathematics professor directs the Charles A. Dana Center, a university research unit that works to support education leaders and policy-makers in strengthening Texas education. His research and professional interests include mathematics and science education; education policy related to equity, school finance and accountability systems; and community service and volunteerism. Treisman's lecture is part of the Distinguished Educational Thinkers Seminar Series presented by the School of Education and the Graduate Group in Education at UC Davis. It begins at 5:15 p.m. in the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center.
