Family, friends and former students from as far away as Taiwan gathered Monday to dedicate Warren and Leta Giedt Hall, UC Davis' newest classroom building. Giedt Hall has three lecture halls, including the 278-seat Ted and Rand Schaal Auditorium, and two classrooms. Construction of the $7.5 million building was supported by a gift of $2.5 million from Warren Giedt, professor emeritus of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, and his late wife, Leta, as well as a gift of $400,000 from Ted and Rand Schaal.
