Forum to Discuss Implications of Sept. 11 Attacks

A UC Davis Institute of Governmental Affairs forum on Wednesday, Oct. 10, will address the military, political, economic, social and cultural implications of the Sept. 11 attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center.

Speakers include Emily O. Goldman of the Joint Center for International and Security Studies and a professor of political science specializing in U.S. foreign and national security policy and military affairs; John R. Hall of the Center for History, Society and Culture and a professor of sociology specializing in the role of violence in religious social movements; and Steven M. Sheffrin, dean of the Division of Social Sciences and a professor of economics specializing in the intersection of politics and the economy.

The forum will take place noon-1:30 p.m. in the IGA Reading Room, 360 Shields Library on the UC Davis campus.
