The New Student Celebration concludes with the singing of the alma mater, Hail to California.

Hey, faculty and staff: Come be part of a new tradition next Monday (Sept. 21).

We’re invited, along with returning students, to give a giant welcome to our new students: the classes of 2017 (transfers) and 2019 (first-years), and international students. Here’s how it’ll work: While they’re attending the New Student Celebration inside The Pavilion at the ARC, we will be gathering outside, so we can give a loud cheer as they exit the building.

Participants in the giant welcome are asked to wear blue and gold, and to start gathering at 4:30 p.m. at the southeastern corner of The Pavilion. The students will exit at about 5, on their way to a barbecue and Resource Fair on the Hutchison intramural field. Faculty, staff and returning students are invited to stay for dinner, for $12 or one swipe of a meal card.

This year's outdoor festivities will include the band Steep Ravine.

Interested in participating in the giant welcome? RSVP here.
