Escalator passes through red ceiling.
Jackson Mills ’24 says of this photo: "The natural bedrock found throughout the Stockholm metro system, painted with distinct colors and art, is almost otherworldly. Nowhere is this more the case than at Solna Centrum, a breathtaking station whose bedrock walls are adorned with a bright red-orange paint scheme and illustrations of the Swedish forests with their hunter-gatherer inhabitants.”
Light comes in through windows of cathedral.
Kasey Morales ’24 says of this photo: "An entire day dedicated to exploring Vatican City and seeing a variety of works which are significant to the history of Catholicism. This image inside the Saint Peter’s Basilica shows beams of light glistening through the windows, which adds beauty to this grand structure."

There are less than two months remaining in 2022, but you can still see the world this year thanks to the students who submitted photos for the annual UC Davis Study Abroad Photo Contest. Students submitted more than 300 photos, and the finalists are now up for voting online in two categories: people and places. Cast your vote on the Study Abroad website until Thursday (Nov. 17).
