UC Davis’ women’s water polo sport club has brought home a national championship — the club’s third since 2012. The women rallied in the championship game to edge Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 9-8, Player of the Game Lauren Lesyna scored five times, including the game winner with 48 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter off an assist from Emily Gould.

Aggie student-athletes came away from the Big West Conference Track and Field Championships Friday and Saturday with five titles, including men’s and women’s high jump: Kyle Clancy (2.12 meters, or 6 feet, 11.25 inches) and Erinn Beattie (1.80 meters, or 5 feet, 10.75 inches). Our other champions: Rianna Goins, 800 meters (2 minutes, 8.83 seconds); Basil Okoroike, triple jump (15.72 meters, or  51 feet, 6.75 inches); and the women's 4x100 relay, Mikaela Adolphus, Jazmen Bunch, Kierra Davis and Natsumi McGee, 44.81 seconds. The Aggie women with 142.7 points came in second in the team standings, just behind Cal State University, Northridge, 144; while the Aggie men placed sixth. More than 400 bikes auctioned

Nearly 200 people registered to bid on abandoned bicycles collected by Transportation Services earlier this month, and the number of bikes sold was more than double that.

In all, 458 bikes were sold, for a total of $13,565. The prices varied widely — the cheapest bike went for $29.62, while the most expensive — a Cannondale cyclocross bicycle — sold for $675.

Even so, that's not a bad deal for a bicycle with a retail price of around $1,400, Bicycle Program Coordinator Tim Bustos said.
