Steven Noble ’90 never planned on turning his illustration into a career. He studied economics at UC Davis and planned on becoming a stockbroker, but the unexpected death of his father pushed him to reconsider his career path.

Seeing off colleagues, from a distance
There was a bit of a traffic jam in the circle in front of Mrak Hall Wednesday (June 24) — cars, trucks and bicycles slowed to a crawl as staff members from the Offices of the Chancellor and Provost waved and shouted a socially distanced goodbye to a number of retiring and transitioning colleagues, who stood spread out under pop-up tents:

Aerial view of The Green shows progress
Work is continuing on The Green at West Village, which will open this fall with beds for 1,000 transfer students. The above video shows the project as of about a month ago.
With this new housing, UC Davis will release its master leases on Davis apartments accommodating 500 transfer students — and thus boost the city’s stock of rental units. A second phase of The Green will add 2,300 beds in the fall of 2021, just another part of the most ambitious student housing plan in UC Davis history. Read more about the project.
