Making Math Fun, Splash Fest: Dateline Download

Many students struggle with math, and a new curriculum developed at UC Davis aims to change that by making the subject fun.

The C-STEM Center, led by professor Harry Cheng, lets students learn by programming robots.

"It is a life changing experience for many of the students," Cheng said. "They don't feel like they're learning math. They're just having fun."

It took just 15 minutes for faculty, staff, students and visitors to toss 3,000 water balloons in an the 13th annual Bruce Hammock Lab Water Balloon Battle on Friday (July 22).

Hammock, a distinguished professor of entomology, created the event as a way to reward lab members for their hard work throughout the year. More photos are available on the Entomology & Nematology News blog.

Showcasing the Engineering Showcase

The students in last month's Engineering Design Showcase created ways for kids in wheelchairs to play more sports, increase sanitation in Cambodia, measure blood coagulation and more. Meet some of the students behind the projects in this video.
