He has served as the university registrar at Florida Atlantic, a public research university with its main campus in Boca Raton, for six years. The school, established in 1961, is part of the State University System of Florida and has an enrollment of just over 30,000 undergraduates and graduate students, including medical students, across six campuses on the state’s southeast coast.

UC Davis, with an enrollment of more than 41,000 undergraduates and graduate students, will welcome Hodge on Oct. 24.

“I am delighted to have Brian join our team,” said Deborah Agee, interim associate vice chancellor of Enrollment Management. “He is an incredible leader who brings a wealth of enrollment management experience, from financial aid to student systems to registrar operations. We feel lucky to have him.”

Hodge, who has more than 25 years of experience in higher education administration, is looking forward to trading coasts: “I am very excited to join the UC Davis family and can’t wait to experience ‘California’s College Town,’” he said.

He holds a doctorate in education from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Southern Maine.

Mary Croughan, provost and executive vice chancellor, joined Agee in announcing Hodge’s appointment, which concluded a national search. “Given his experience and background, Dr. Hodge will help propel UC Davis forward in the quality of services we provide to our faculty, students and staff in pursuit of an excellent educational experience,” Croughan said.

Prior to joining Florida Atlantic, Hodge worked in Enrollment and Student Services at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for more than 10 years, first as the associate director of financial aid systems and then as the associate director and director of student systems and special projects. He served previously as the financial aid director at the Northeastern University School of Law and Simmons University, both in Boston.
