Oct. 17, Tuesday -- Our entire outlook is about to change as physicists put forward theories that our universe is just a tiny pocket in a stupendous landscape, says Leonard Susskind, professor of physics at Stanford University. Susskind, sometimes called "the Father of String Theory," will talk about these ideas and his new book, "The Cosmic Landscape: String Theory and the Illusion of Intelligent Design," (Little, Brown and Company, 2005) in a public lecture at UC Davis. His talk will take place in the ARC Ballroom, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7, free for students.
